“Minab 168: Children Bathed in Fire” unveiled at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

The ceremony was attended by a number of Iranian and Malaysian cultural, academic, and social figures, as well as scholars, cultural activists, and individuals interested in literature and humanitarian issues, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Authored by Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, the President of Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organization (MAPIM), the new book was published by the Malaysian Islamic NGO in collaboration of the Cultural Counsellorship of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia.

“Minab 168: Children Bathed in Fire” recounts the martyrdom of 168 students from the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary School during the US missile strike on Minab city in southern Iran.

The book presents the suffering and innocence of these children as a symbol of the hardships endured by children who fall victim to war, violence, and injustice around the world.

Through the use of documented accounts and human-centered narratives, the author seeks to illuminate the various dimensions of this tragedy and portray the human consequences of war and aggression.

In an interview with IRIB News Agency, Mohammad Azmi Abdul Hamid highlighted the book's central message, stating that the work is not merely the account of a tragic incident, but also a reminder of the collapse of the traditional world order and the inability of existing structures to respond effectively to humanitarian catastrophes.

He added that what the world is witnessing today in various regions is the result of the dominance of hegemonic powers and a disregard for the rights of nations and innocent people.

The author further emphasized that the purpose of writing the book is to raise global awareness of these harsh realities and to underscore the need for reform in the mechanisms of global governance and international management, so as to prevent the recurrence of such humanitarian tragedies in the future.
