Reviving culture of Ghadir makes platform for dialogue between Islamic denominations
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in a message issued on the eve of Ghadir Eid, highlighted the unifying effects of Ghadir manifested when Muslims distance from divisive perspectives and rely on their shared faith to strive to strengthen the Front of Truth, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” In an era where the enemies of Islam seek to collapse the moral and spiritual foundations of the Islamic community by promoting Islamophobia, Iranophobia, and Shiaphobia, and by beating the drum of sectarianism, the revival of the culture of Ghadir—with an emphasis on affection for the Ahl al-Bayt—can serve as a unifying force for hearts and a platform for proximity-oriented dialogue between Islamic schools of thought.

He said,” Undoubtedly, following the path of the late Imam (RA) and adhering to the wise guidance of the Martyr Imam and the Leader of Islamic Republic will lead us toward that ‘Single Ummah,’ wherein national and Islamic cohesion shall be the guarantor of the survival and dignity of all Muslims worldwide.”

Referring to the event of Ghadir Khumm, Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari stated, “In this context, the noble event of Ghadir Khumm is not merely a historical and theological occurrence, but an inspiring symbol of connection and unity within the Islamic community, the capacities of which must be harnessed to strengthen brotherhood.”

The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, noting the exalted status of Ghadir, emphasized that the teachings of this momentous day transcend religious differences. They revolve around the axes of “Divine Guardianship” and “Love for the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH),” serving as the divine rope that gathers all Muslims around the center of Truth and Justice.”

He added,” Ghadir is a symbol of (devotion) to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), which, in Islamic culture, serves as the focal point of affection and solidarity for all Islamic sects” and added,” It represents a vast capacity for resolving mental barriers and creating a space for dialogue among the intellectuals of the Islamic world. Ghadir constitutes the foundation of Tabarra (disassociation) from the enemies of Islam and Muslims, focusing on the axis of Divine Guardianship to overcome global arrogance.”

In another part of his message, the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to the upcoming passing anniversary of late Imam Khomeini saying that the occasion serves as a reminder of the ascension of a figure who, through his lofty intellect, not only transformed the Islamic Republic of Iran but also resonated the call for awakening throughout the entire Islamic world.

He noted that the late Leader, by emphasizing the fundamental principle of unity, called upon the Islamic Ummah to return to its original dignity and consistently warned against the dangers of sectarianism between Sunnis and Shias.

“For years, his righteous successor, the Martyred Imam, has steered this luminous path with the same fortitude and civilizational vision, strategically placing the centrality of a “Single Ummah” at the core of the Islamic system’s grand strategies to counter the conspiracies of enemies and the Front of Arrogance”, said the cleric and added,” Furthermore, the Leader has consistently emphasized the necessity of avoiding division and social fragmentation, while safeguarding cohesive and interconnected ranks.”

According to the cleric, the continuity of this path, which is rooted in the discourse of the Revolution’s leaders, has had a direct impact on enhancing national cohesion.”

He explained that in the thought of the Revolution’s leaders, national cohesion is defined not merely within the geographical framework of Iran, but as a model for the convergence of Islamic nations and the strengthening of the resistance’s capacity within the region.”

He continued: “The Martyred Leader, by emphasizing unifying elements, has always stressed the necessity of avoiding discord and the importance of synergy among various ethnicities and denominations. He believed that the strength of the Islamic Ummah is realized under the shadow of conscious cohesion and strategic unity—a grand strategy that the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought pursues to achieve a modern Islamic civilization.”
