Religious Scholar from Guinea:

To overcome crises, the Islamic Ummah must return to the unifying message of Arafah and Ghadir

A religious scholar from Guinea-Conakry, emphasizing the conceptual connection between the sermon of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on the Day of Arafah and the event of Ghadir, considered it an urgent necessity for the Islamic Ummah to return to the teachings of unity, cohesion, and obedience to divine leadership.
To overcome crises, the Islamic Ummah must return to the unifying message of Arafah and Ghadir
According to the Taghrib News Agency, Hajj Maladou Barry, a religious scholar from Guinea-Conakry, at the international webinar "Ghadir, Wilayah, and Unity" organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, described the Eid of Ghadir as a reminder of the sermon of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on the Day of Arafah and emphasized that this sermon calls the Islamic Ummah to unity, cohesion, strength, and steadfastness so that they can defend their religion, belief, identity, homeland, and rights.

Stating that Muslims must act as a single hand against the enemies of Islam, he said: "In the Arafah sermon, the Messenger of God (PBUH), in addition to calling Muslims to unity and solidarity, also warned them against division, conflict, and betraying one another."

Maladou Barry, referring to the event of Ghadir, stated: "Thereafter, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) introduced Imam Ali (AS) as the leader of the Muslims at Ghadir. With this action, he laid the foundations of the unity of the Ummah, the support of religion, and the ground for the dominance of the Islamic Ummah under the banner of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) and the Infallible Imams (AS)."

He added: "By advising Wilayah (guardianship), the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in fact placed the key to victory in the hands of the Islamic Ummah and entrusted the leadership of the Ummah to Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (AS)."

This religious figure from Guinea-Conakry, referring to the current situation of the Islamic world, especially in the year 2026, stated: "At this juncture, we need to return to the positions and guidelines of the Messenger of God (PBUH) at Arafat and on the day of Eid Ghadir more than ever before."

He also referred to the steadfastness of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the "tyrant of the age" and the "Great Satan" and its resistance during 40 days of war, describing it as a sign of pride and endurance, and said: "This is while many Islamic countries have only been spectators."

Barry noted: "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) clearly explained that the Islamic Ummah is a single body. Just as Muslims on the Day of Arafah, in one place, with a single dress, call upon one Lord with the same words, this scene is a clear and decisive lesson for inviting the Islamic Ummah to unity."

He continued: "The message of Ghadir was also that the Islamic Ummah can achieve unity, power, and influence in the world only when it follows one Imam. For this reason, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on the day of Ghadir publicly announced the Imamate of Ali (AS) to everyone so that the Islamic Ummah would be guided by one Imam and obey his commands and prohibitions."

Emphasizing that today all nations have gathered against the Islamic Ummah, he said: "In such circumstances, no way remains but unity to emerge from the current situation. Muslims must gather under one flag, with one leadership, one Book, and one Qibla, so that they can restore the true position of this Ummah and pave the way for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AS)."

In conclusion, Hajj Maladou Barry expressed hope that God Almighty would hasten the reappearance of the Imam of the Age (AS), make Muslims among his companions and soldiers, and grant the mujahideen of the path of truth steadfastness and assistance on the path of jihad.
