Bahraini activist:

Ghadir must become a bridge for understanding and unity of the Islamic Ummah

A Bahraini media activist, emphasizing that Ghadir is not merely a historical event but the official announcement of divine guardianship (Wilayah) and leadership after the Holy Prophet (PBUH), said: "Ghadir should not become a factor of division among Muslims; rather, it can be a platform for dialogue about justice in governance, worthy leadership, and strengthening the unity of the Islamic Ummah."
Ghadir must become a bridge for understanding and unity of the Islamic Ummah
According to the Taghrib News Agency, Fatemeh Al Yaghoub, a Bahraini journalist, at the international webinar "Ghadir, Wilayah, and Unity" organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, sending greetings to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), his Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and his companions, and also thanking the attendees of this conference, emphasized the necessity of keeping the event of Ghadir alive and described it as an event that will never be erased from the historical memory of Muslims.

Stating that Ghadir is not merely a historical event, she said: "In its profound belief, Ghadir is the official announcement of divine guardianship and leadership after the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). This concept, beyond a transient event, outlines a complete system of governance and Imamate in which power is linked to righteousness, justice, and knowledge, and stands against tribal and worldly inclinations."

Al Yaghoub described Ghadir as a "strategic issue" and added: "Ghadir is tied to the destiny and collective path of the Islamic Ummah and is not limited to an individual or a local event. Wilayah in the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) expresses a system of divine governance whose goal is the simultaneous protection of religion and worldly affairs, presenting a model of wise leadership to prevent intellectual and political deviations throughout history, as well as creating grounds for unity among Islamic sects."

Referring to the views of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran about Ghadir, she said: "As has been emphasized, the event of Ghadir, with all its lofty concepts of Wilayah and Imamate, should not become a factor of division among Muslims, but rather should become a bridge for understanding and convergence. From this perspective, Ghadir can be a common platform for dialogue about divine justice in governance and the necessity of the Ummah having a worthy spiritual and political leadership."

This Bahraini journalist stated: "Ghadir is an invitation to unite the ranks of Muslims around the axis of common principles and values, not a ground for disagreement over individuals. Therefore, in the current situation where the Islamic world faces challenges arising from sectarian, ethnic, and political divisions, revisiting the message of Ghadir is more necessary than ever."

She noted: "Ghadir reminds us of this truth that Wilayah in Islam is a unifying force that, relying on justice as the foundation of government and unity as a religious and historical necessity, has the ability to connect the Islamic Ummah. This concept also emphasizes the independence of the Ummah, because the divine leader submits only to God Almighty."

Referring to recent developments in the region, Al Yaghoub stated: "In the current war-torn era, a concrete example of the manifestation of the principles of justice, unity, and independence can be seen in Iran, where during the imposed war, ethnic groups, sects, religious minorities, and various social spectra achieved unity and solidarity around the axis of the Islamic Revolution, the Constitution, and the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih)."

She added: "Iranians, looking at Ghadir as a comprehensive and unifying spirit rather than a confrontational event, were able to transcend historical limitations and move towards a common future. This has made Iran a rare example of coexistence and convergence between sects and different groups under the shadow of a single leadership."

In the concluding part of her remarks, this Bahraini media activist emphasized: "In the view of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ghadir is not merely a ritual occasion and religious celebration, but rather a system of governance and ethics. Therefore, a contemporary revisiting of Ghadir means rebuilding Islamic unity based on righteous Wilayah—a Wilayah that can protect the Islamic Ummah from weakness, division, and collapse."

In conclusion, she stated: "If the Islamic Ummah wishes to overcome the current state of weakness and dispersion, it must re-read Ghadir as a unifying and monotheism-centered ideology, not as a heritage that creates grounds for disagreement and division."
