According to the Taghrib News Agency, Khadija Aslan, a researcher and media activist from Turkey, at the international webinar "Ghadir, Wilayah, and Unity," organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, described the Eid of Ghadir as the most important event in Islamic history and said: "This great Eid has been gifted to the Islamic Ummah, because the Messenger of God (PBUH) completed his prophetic mission by introducing the Imam and leader of the Ummah."
Citing verse 71 of Surah Al-Isra: "On the Day We will call every people with their Imam," she stated: "According to this verse, every human being and every nation needs an Imam. Just as God chooses prophets to guide, give glad tidings, and warn people, He also places their successors, the Imams, to preserve and revive the religion among communities so that people can act upon divine teachings."
Aslan, referring to the event of Ghadir Khumm, added: "In this event, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) raised the hand of Ali (AS) before the great gathering of pilgrims, introduced him as his successor and executor, and repeatedly emphasized the necessity of conveying this message to all people. This level of concern shows that the issue of Wilayah and the appointment of an Imam was a fateful matter equal in importance to the prophetic mission."
Explaining the reason for the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) sensitivity regarding the issue of Imamate, she stated: "The religion for which the Prophet (PBUH) had strived 23 years to preach, spread, and establish would be at risk of oblivion and deviation without the presence of a leader and guide after him. Since God is the owner of the religion, the same God who sent the Prophet to convey the religion also appoints the Imam and his successor."
This Turkish media activist emphasized: "Just as religion has no meaning without the Prophet, it cannot remain steadfast without an Imam. The existence of an Imam for preserving the unity, solidarity, and strength of the Islamic Ummah is an undeniable necessity."
Aslan, referring to the position of Ali (AS) after the demise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), noted: "Although he was deprived of his right to the Caliphate, through his effective presence, wise stances, and prudent policies, he was able to prevent many of the seditions, disputes, and bloodshed that arose in Islamic society."
In conclusion, while congratulating the blessed Eid of Ghadir to all Muslims of the world, she expressed hope that this Eid would be a source of good, blessing, and greater solidarity for the Islamic Ummah, and added: "I hope that in the near future, we will witness days when the Zionist regime and America have been eliminated, and Muslim nations will live in the shadow of dignity, independence, and unity."
