Mawlawi Abdol Samad Sadati, advisor to the secretariat of the planning council of Sunni religious schools and the Friday Prayer Imam of Saravan, spoke to the Taghrib News Agency, stating that "Hajj spreads the breeze of convergence and unity among the Islamic Ummah."
He said: "The blessed Eid al-Adha is a hallmark of the unity of the Islamic Ummah, because during these days, Muslims perform prayers, offer sacrifices to God Almighty, and perform recommended acts to seek nearness to God."
Mawlawi Sadati stated: "Undoubtedly, acts of worship during the first ten days of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will be fruitful, and the result of all those acts of worship is unity and brotherhood. In truth, this means that God Almighty has ordained all obligatory and compulsory matters in such a way that they invite the Islamic Ummah to unity and rapprochement."
This Sunni scholar clarified: "The Islamic Ummah welcomes the blessed Eid al-Fitr during the holy month of Ramadan, and during the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, it welcomes the Day of Arafah and the blessed Eid al-Adha. This conveys the message to Muslims that after every act of worship, closeness, convergence, and synergy are unity-building."
He emphasized in conclusion: "Another point is that the world has become turbulent. Differences and hollow preferences have spread, and some, intentionally or unintentionally, fan the flames. If we want these pilgrimages and festivals to smooth the path of unity, we must abandon these issues and focus on unity."
