Israeli media: The army is experiencing a collapse of manpower

According to the Taghrib News Agency, Israeli media reported today (Sunday) that the Israeli army is facing a manpower crisis and the public is not sufficiently aware of this issue.

The media quoted Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, during a Knesset discussion as saying: "The army will not be able to carry out its long-term missions without extending compulsory service and resolving the conscription issue."

While the Israeli army speaks of a shortage of thousands of combat soldiers and support personnel, the political establishment remains at an impasse over the conscription law.

Manpower Attrition

Haaretz newspaper revealed the manpower crisis, heavy workload, daily tensions, and casualties. The newspaper stated that the damages resulting from the new security doctrine in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria have led to isolation, despair, and emigration.

Previously, according to a report by Channel 13 Israel, a senior officer of the Israeli occupation army had pointed to reports of a manpower crisis in the army and the urgent need for more soldiers in continuous and reserve service, in addition to regulating the reserve law.

The Israeli channel quoted the officer as saying: "We have been warning about the gap in troop numbers for a long time. We need more soldiers, more forces, to Gaza, to the West Bank, to Lebanon."

He also emphasized the difficulty of addressing the security situation in the region, including Lebanon, while simultaneously dealing with issues related to Haredi conscription and the extension of compulsory military service.

These warnings come amid continuous pressure on the Israeli army due to the conflict on multiple fronts and the losses it is suffering on the northern front of occupied Palestine as a result of the Islamic resistance's operations in response to its aggression against Lebanon.
