Iranians mark 40th day of mourning for martyred Leader of Islamic Republic

Iranians have marked the 40th day of nation-wide mourning for the martyred Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamanei who was assassinated in a US-Israeli aggression on February 28.

In the capital Tehran, thousands of people began mass rally in downtown Tehran towards the site of US-Israeli bombing where the Leader was martyred, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Similar gatherings have been held in different cities across the country where Qur’an recitation, prayers and eulogies were held to pay tribute to the martyred Leader.

 
The Leader of Islamic Republic together with a number of top officials and military commanders were martyred on the first day of the deadly strikes jointly launched by US and Israeli regime.
 
Mourning ceremonies have been held since the martyrdom of the Leader was confirmed where the people vowed retaliation for the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei stressing their unwavering support for the Islamic establishment.

 
Various programs and gatherings have been scheduled for a 3-day national mourning that mark the 40th day after martyrdom of the Leader of Islamic Republic.
 
The final day of the mourning will be held before the Friday prayer on April 10.
