Reactions on X: Users Criticize the Alliance of Certain Persian Gulf States with the American-Zionist Coalition

In response to the reactions published on the social media platform X, several Arabic-speaking users have reacted to and criticized the convergence of some Persian Gulf governments with the American-Zionist coalition.

In this context, Dr. Rafik Abdessalem, a writer and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, wrote in a post that the UAE is now paying the price for its strategic alliance with Israel and for transforming itself into a military and financial base for it in the Persian Gulf region. According to him, this country has suffered more than any of its neighbors and is now experiencing some of the consequences of the policies it previously pursued against other Arab and Islamic nations.

Abdessalem also believes that the development model of Dubai and Abu Dhabi—which, in his view, was built on "artificial prosperity" and Israeli support—now faces a serious challenge. Perhaps these circumstances present an opportunity to reassess these policies and return to engaging with the region's cultural and political environment.

In a similar vein, Khaled Mansour, another X user, raised a question about the positions of certain Arab governments. He wrote: "If the sheikhs of the region oppose attacks on American bases under the pretext of protecting Arab regimes, then why did they previously support revolutions in countries like Egypt and Syria?"—revolutions that, according to him, brought about casualties, fear, and violence.

On the other hand, Muzahim al-Huwayt commented in a post that some factions, which had previously supported figures like al-Baghdadi or foreign forces in various regions, now take pride in the presence of Gulf armies alongside the US and the Zionist regime.

Among the reactions, Salama Abdel Qawi, an Egyptian scholar, commented on published images of damage in Tel Aviv, praising the forces confronting Israel and praying for their success.

Additionally, Mustafa Amer, another user on X, wrote in a post: "Your problem is not with Iran; it is with God, who commanded you not to take the Jews as allies, yet you took them as allies. He told you that they are the most hostile of people to those who believe, but you said, 'No.'"
