A senior member of the Nujaba Movement’s political council, Firas al‑Yasir, stated that any military action targeting Iran would inevitably lead to a broader confrontation involving Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen.

Speaking to regional media, al‑Yasir said that Washington appears uncertain about escalating tensions and remains concerned about potential reactions from resistance groups in Iraq.

He argued that any strike against Iran would be interpreted as a direct threat to multiple regional actors, prompting a unified response.
He added that recent diplomatic visits by American envoys would not alter the position of Iraqi resistance groups, emphasizing that external pressure should not be allowed to shape Iraq’s sovereign decisions.
Al‑Yasir urged political actors to reconsider their calculations and avoid aligning themselves with foreign agendas. He stressed that Iraq and its people deserve respect and should not be portrayed as dependent on outside powers.
