Qassem stated that the real test of the declarations issued at the meeting would be the board’s ability to compel the Israeli regime to halt what he described as ongoing acts of aggression, initiate humanitarian aid delivery, and begin the reconstruction process in Gaza.
The first session of the body referred to as the “Gaza Board of Peace” was held on Thursday in Washington under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders and representatives from approximately 45 countries.
Trump said during the meeting—at which no representative of the Palestinian people was present—that it was “a great day,” noting that many leaders had attended the session. “Peace is very difficult, but we will achieve it,” he stated, expressing appreciation for the participating leaders and describing his relations with them as very good.
