OIC calls for urgent international action against Israels colonial measures

OIC Secretary General has denounced the new measure as part of efforts to deepen Israel’s control, strengthen settlement and annexation, change the legal, political, and demographic status of the occupied Palestinian territory, and undermine the two-state solution, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

OIC also expressed its rejection and condemnation of these Israeli decisions and measures, which target the existence of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, including their right to self-determination and to establish their independent sovereign state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The international Islamic body renewed its call on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to intervene immediately to compel Israel, the occupying power, to cease all its illegal actions and to ensure that it is held accountable for all the crimes and violations it commits against the Palestinian people, their territory, and their holy sites.

The Israeli government on Sunday approved a new proposal to tighten Israeli control over the occupied West Bank and register large areas there as "state property," for the first time since the Israeli occupation of the territory in 1967, in a move Palestinians called "a de-facto annexation".

The decision has raised reaction among different countries, world leaders and resistance groups saying it constitutes "a de-facto annexation of occupied Palestinian territory.
