Hojjat al‑Islam Habibollah Ghafouri stated that national cohesion has enabled the Iranian nation to withstand pressures and threats, and preserving this unity is the most important factor in neutralizing cultural and political conspiracies of the enemies.

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), speaking at a gathering of Sunni scholars and clerics in Kermanshah Province—held at the Grand Mosque of Paveh—Hojjat al‑Islam Ghafouri emphasized: “Shia–Sunni unity is a strategic asset for the Islamic Republic. Wherever the Iranian nation has stood united under the banner of faith and leadership, the enemies have failed.”
National Unity as a Shield Against Threats
The Friday Prayer Leader of Kermanshah added that national cohesion has empowered the Iranian people to stand firm in the face of pressures and threats, and maintaining this unity remains the most effective means of countering the cultural and political schemes of adversaries.
The Role of Scholars in Strengthening Society
Referring to the historical experiences of the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense, Ghafouri noted: “The active presence of scholars in guiding society, explaining contemporary issues, and strengthening national cohesion prevents enemy conspiracies from taking shape. This unity enabled the Iranian nation to emerge victorious and dignified during the eight‑year imposed war, despite facing 60 countries supporting the Ba’athist regime.”
He added that today, the same unity—combined with wise leadership—continues to protect the country from sedition and hostile media and cultural campaigns.
