Al-Quds Governorate affirmed that the incursion by extremist Israeli Knesset member Amit Halevi into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday came as part of a provocative tour accompanied by the so-called Temple Mount Administration, amid escalating Israeli calls to impose a new reality inside the mosque.
It said the raid constitutes a threat to Islamic holy sites and an attempt to change the existing status quo in its courtyards.
The governorate noted that Halevi called for no change to what he described as “Jewish prayers” inside the mosque.
