Islamic unity is the guarantor of the strength and stability of the Ummah
Sheikh Maher Abdul‑Razzaq, President of the Lebanese Association for Reform and Unity, stated that Islamic unity is not merely a slogan but a religious obligation and a real necessity for preserving the strength, identity, and sacred values of the Muslim Ummah and safeguarding future generations.

He noted that enemies of the Ummah have only been able to dominate Muslims when division prevailed and the true spirit of Islamic unity and brotherhood was absent. He added: “Islamic unity preserves our identity, protects our dignity, and prevents the enemy from infiltrating us. Through unity, we can confront any challenge, no matter how great.”
Referring to the well‑known saying of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that “Believers, in their mutual love, compassion, and sympathy, are like a single body; when one limb suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever,” he said this is the most profound expression of the necessity of unity—especially today, when the Ummah faces war, occupation, siege, and attempts to weaken it intellectually and culturally.
Sheikh Abdul‑Razzaq stressed: “Islamic unity is the first line of defense and the strongest shield of the Ummah. Through unity, we can thwart the enemy’s schemes, strengthen our cultural and intellectual presence in the world, and protect our sanctities, dignity, freedom, thought, and future generations.”
He also cited Qur’anic verses calling Muslims to unity and warning against division, noting that disunity weakens the Ummah and erodes its identity.
In conclusion, he addressed Muslims by saying: “Islamic unity is like the soul within the body, and today the Ummah needs it more than ever. Unity is the life and vitality of the Ummah, and only by returning to true unity can the real spirit of the Ummah be revived.”
