Several prayer leaders of the Sunni community in Iran have sternly condemned the recent EU decision to blacklist Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The scholars and prayer leaders of the Sunni community in Iran’s West Azarbaijan province have unanimously denounced the move by the European bloc to blacklist IRGC stressing the Iranian nation’s support for the elite forces, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Mamusta Abbas Ahmadi, Friday prayer leader of Bukan city slammed the ‘weird’ move by the European Union to blacklist IRGC calling on the world Muslim nations to stand against the seditions of the world arrogant powers.
 
He said,” Those who constantly invade other countries are now calling the beloved defenders of Iranian nation as terrorists while these countries are themselves terrorists who have turned a blind eye to their own oppression and crimes.”
 
Speaking at another communal prayer, the Friday prayer leader of Shahin Dej, denounced the hostile measure by the European bloc to declare IRGC as terrorist group calling that a move in line with undermining the security and independence of Iran.
 
Mamusta Seyyed Khaled Rasoulzadeh referred to the threats of the arrogant U.S. and hailed the vigilance and support of the Iranian nation against any hostile threat.
 
He underlined the all-out support of the Iranian nation for the Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and armed forces.
 
In the city of Naqadeh, Mamusta Sanar Tamarnejad said,” Foiling the seditions by enemies is a great mission of our unknown soldiers”, hailing the sacrifices made by Iranian armed forces.
 
The European Union has designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a “terrorist organization” over confronting the terrorist attacks in the country.
 
On Thursday, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced that the bloc’s foreign ministers took a “decisive step” in labelling the IRGC as a “terrorist” group.
 
Reactions have poured following the announcement as Iranian officials stressing that the consequences of the measure will fall on the European states involved in the decision.
