Pakistani Legal Experts Condemn Unfair UN Human Rights Council Resolution on Iran

The signatories stated that the resolution does not reflect the fundamental values of international law, including respect for national order and security, judicial independence, state sovereignty, and the rule of law.
They emphasized that the maintenance of public order and national security must always be taken into account when issuing international human rights statements. Sustainable peace and effective protection of human rights are achieved through dialogue, adherence to the law, and respect for national sovereignty. Unilateral sanctions, military actions, and foreign interventions often exacerbate human suffering and undermine the full realization of human rights.
The statement recognized the right and responsibility of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to govern within its constitutional framework and international legal obligations without external pressure or unlawful foreign interference.
By signing this declaration, the legal experts expressed their support for the opposition statement delivered by Mr. Muneeb Ahmed, Pakistan’s federal government representative, against the unfair resolution adopted at the 39th Special Session of the UNHRC on Iran. They also reaffirmed their support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, its people, and its legitimate leadership, as well as for their efforts to restore calm, maintain public order, and ensure fair judicial processes. The statement reiterates a collective commitment to rule of law, national independence, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
