Iran Expresses Support for Venezuela Against U.S. Threats

​​​​​​​According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a conversation with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil Pinto, during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations and developments in the Caribbean region.

Araghchi highlighted the strong and longstanding relations between Iran and Venezuela across various fields, emphasizing the determination of senior officials in both countries to strengthen and expand cooperation in line with their mutual interests.
He described U.S. actions against maritime security in the Caribbean and its threats to use force against Venezuela as blatant violations of fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter. Araghchi stressed that the international community bears responsibility to firmly oppose such illegal and unilateral measures, which pose a clear threat to regional and global peace and stability.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for Iran’s principled stance and solidarity with the Venezuelan people and their elected government in the face of unlawful and unjust U.S. threats and sanctions. He reaffirmed the determination of the Venezuelan government and nation to defend their national sovereignty and independence against external pressure.
Both foreign ministers also underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral and multilateral coordination and cooperation in international forums to counter unilateralism and defend the sovereignty of nations.
