Speaking at the opening of the “Agha Takhti” exhibition, Gharibabadi noted that public figures should embody the qualities of legendary wrestler Gholamreza Takhti, emphasizing humility and service to the people.
Addressing the visa issue, he stated: “Countries hosting international competitions have a responsibility to facilitate the participation of all teams. Denying visas is unlawful and undermines the integrity of the event.” He added that Iran has lodged its protest and that the federation’s boycott was an appropriate response.
Gharibabadi stressed that Iran will continue to pursue its objections to ensure fair conditions for Iranian athletes in international competitions. He warned that host countries must not misuse their position, describing the denial of visas as an inappropriate and unacceptable act.
