Hezbollah: “Surrender Has No Place in the Vocabulary of Resistance”
Speaking at a memorial ceremony, Fadlallah criticized the Lebanese government’s passivity and silence in the face of Israeli aggression, saying: “The government has made many political concessions, while the Zionists have offered nothing in return.”

He added: “We are passing through a difficult and challenging stage, but this does not mean we will surrender to the enemy or hand over our country as an easy prey to the occupiers.”
On international pressures, particularly from the United States to push Lebanon into direct negotiations with Israel, Fadlallah noted: “No political proposal has been presented to Lebanon that could effectively stop the enemy’s aggression.”
He explained that the only existing agreement is the ceasefire of November last year, which Israel continuously violates. “In such circumstances, there is no room to discuss another agreement,” he said.
Fadlallah emphasized that the central concern of resistance today is how to confront these challenges with new strategies and equations, acknowledging that the region has entered a new phase.
He questioned the government’s role: “After the ceasefire, the state became responsible for protecting sovereignty, but today people ask: which government are we talking about, and where does it stand amid ongoing aggressions?”
He urged the Lebanese government to use all diplomatic, political, and media tools at its disposal, warning that anyone who thinks Israeli aggression is limited to southern Lebanon is mistaken.
Fadlallah dismissed claims that Israel could return to the conditions of 1982 and easily occupy Lebanon: “That era will never return. We have moved beyond it. Collaborators cannot dominate our country. Though their voices are loud, politically they are in the minority.”
He concluded: “Resistance will never allow Lebanon to surrender to occupiers. If the enemies of resistance believe they represent the majority of the Lebanese people, let them wait for the next elections and see the results.”
