The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has called for the immediate opening of all crossings into Gaza for the delivery of the humanitarian aid amid the critical conditions in the besieged territory.
UN urges immediate opening of Gaza crossings amid humanitarian crisis
In a statement on Monday, OHCHR spokesman Seif Magango said that Israel bears full responsibility for the failure to allow a sufficient number of aid trucks into Gaza, noting that the continued closure of crossings is worsening the humanitarian crisis and undermining international relief efforts.

Magango condemned the Israeli draft law seeking to legalize the execution of Palestinian detainees, urging the international community to pressure the Israeli government to stop the adoption of such legislation.

The spokesman emphasized that enacting such legislation would represent a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law.

He also affirmed that the UN human rights office had documented serious violations and instances of torture committed by Israeli forces against Palestinians, stressing that these practices warrant an international investigation and serious accountability to ensure justice and prevent impunity.
