Seven Palestinians were injured on Sunday morning after being attacked by Israeli settlers in the Bedouin community of Al-Maazi, located east of the town of Jabaa, northeast of occupied al-Quds.
Witnesses said around 50 settlers from the nearby Adam settlement stormed the community, throwing stones at residents. The assault resulted in seven people sustaining various injuries and bruises, while the colonists also set fire to property, causing significant material damage.
These attacks come amid ongoing escalation in violence by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank, with Bedouin communities in particular experiencing repeated assaults.
In a separate attack on Umm al-Khair village, located in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied al-Khalil, a Palestinian man was injured after being assaulted by settlers.
Ahmad Shuaib al-Hathalin was beaten by armed settlers from the Karmiel settlement and the outpost of Shim’on while under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. Al-Hathalin sustained bruises and head injuries and was transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital for treatment, where his condition was described as moderate.
Masafer Yatta, a cluster of rural communities south of Hebron, has been a frequent target of attacks by Israeli settlers and military. The area has faced ongoing threats of displacement after Israel declared large parts of it a “firing zone” for military training.
Residents continue to face movement restrictions, home demolitions, and repeated assaults by settlers seeking to expand nearby settlements.
That comes a day after a Palestinian young man was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces during a raid on Al-Fara’a refugee camp, south of Tubas in the occupied West Bank.
In a separate incident on Saturday, a Palestinian man and four international solidarity activists were injured after being attacked by Israeli settlers in the village of Burin, south of the occupied Nablus.
