Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari made the remarks in a message issued on Sunday calling as ‘sad and terrifying’ the mass killing of the Sudanese civilians and violation of human dignity in al Fasher, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He emphasized,” Undoubtedly the foreign interference, particularly by the US and Israeli regime, lays behind the ongoing catastrophe in al-Fasher”.

The Iranian cleric noted,” We, at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, follow ways to eliminate the grounds for atrocities and return to the holy Qur’an and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) based on our objective for unifying the hearts of the Muslims across the world of Islam.

“Sudan is well-known for its mediation between the Arab and non-Arabs, moderate religious tendencies and also mediation between the northern and southern Africa” said Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari.

Since late October, Al-Fasher has become a focal point of global attention following a serious escalation in the Sudanese crisis with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) massacring at least 2,000 people in El-Fasher, western Darfur.

The RSF has waged war with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) for more than two years amid the international backlash for arms sales and diplomatic cover by Israel, the UK, France, Canada, and the US.
