He noted that a delegation of Iranian lawmakers, including members of the Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, will accompany him during the visit. The itinerary includes meetings with leaders of both houses of Pakistan’s Parliament—the National Assembly and the Senate.
“Although parliamentary exchanges between Iran and Pakistan have been ongoing, this marks my first official visit to the country,” Qalibaf added.
He praised Pakistan’s stance following the recent 12-day conflict, saying: “The people, parliament, and government of Pakistan have consistently expressed clear and steadfast support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this deserves recognition and appreciation.”
Highlighting the current regional dynamics, Qalibaf stressed the importance of strategic cooperation among Islamic nations, particularly neighboring states. “Given our shared borders and deep historical and civilizational ties, Iran and Pakistan can play a vital role in promoting regional security and stability,” he said.
Addressing broader geopolitical concerns, Qalibaf pointed to the actions of the Zionist regime, calling it a pressing issue for the Islamic world. “This regime openly violates the sovereignty of Islamic countries and continues its aggression with the backing of the United States,” he warned.
He concluded by expressing hope that the visit would yield positive outcomes across political, security, economic, and cultural domains.
