A peace prize for Trump amounts to rubbing salt in wounds of oppressed nations

Hujjat-ul-Islam Maqsud Ali Domaki called as ‘right and legal’ the demand by millions of justice-seeking people across the globe rejecting the Nobel Peace Prize to the US President or any leader complicit in genocide of Gaza people calling that an insult to human values, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” The United States is among the leading perpetrators behind the massacre of Palestinians, bloodshed in Iraq and Afghanistan and spreading violence across the globe.”

The cleric added that the renowned world peace prize must go to those who made greatest contribution to peace, humanity and defending the oppressed nations.

Domaki counted the Swedish pro-Palestine activist, Greta Thunberg, Pakistani former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and other participants of the Gaza-bound Sumud Flotilla as the most qualified people to receive the award saying,” These women and men who stood against the world domineering powers and made sacrifices to materialize peace must in fact receive the award and not those whose hands are soaked in the blood of other people.”

The senior cleric added,” If the Nobel Peace Prize Committee is truly committed to justice and peace, then he must award those who stand against oppression and not oppressors claiming to advocate for peace while they kill the innocent people.”

He added,” The name of the United States has always been followed by war, occupation, terrorism and massacre and to award the Nobel Peace prize to the president of this country is in fact rubbing salt on wounds of the oppressed nations.”

The Pakistan cleric noted that Islamabad has firmly rejected the candidacy of Trump for the annual peace prize.
