Hezbollah’s Power Flows Through the People and the Battlefield, Speaker Says

3 Oct 2025 - 9:10

According to the Taghrib News Agency, Ghalibaf made these remarks on Thursday evening during a ceremony commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Hezbollah’s senior figures, held at the Imam Kazem Seminary in Qom. He revisited the history of the Zionist regime’s formation after World War II, noting that the UN Security Council, backed by Britain and the United States, officially recognized the regime, thereby legitimizing its existence.

He continued: “Over the past 77 years, the Zionist regime has left behind nothing but a record of occupation, aggression, and violations of nations’ rights.”
Ghalibaf stressed that even during periods of apparent peace or ceasefire, the regime has consistently pursued imposed wars and regional domination. From Camp David to Oslo and other agreements, its history reflects a hostile and child-killing nature.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people, through steadfastness, unity, and support for Hezbollah and the resistance front, have demonstrated that they will not surrender to aggression. Instead, through national solidarity and public participation, they preserve and strengthen the power of resistance—a strategy that paves the way for future successes and repeated victories across the region.
Imam Khomeini and the Beginning of the Palestinian Cause
Ghalibaf recalled that from the outset of the Islamic movement, the late Imam Khomeini regarded Palestine as the foremost issue of the Islamic world. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he designated the last Friday of Ramadan as International Quds Day, reflecting his strategic foresight in prioritizing the Palestinian cause.
The Zionist Regime: Imposed Peace, Imposed War
He reiterated that the Zionist regime’s nature has always revolved around imposing war and peace. The experiences of Camp David, Oslo, and Oslo II show that even those who negotiated with the regime were not spared.
He cited the case of Yasser Arafat, who was assassinated through biochemical means after negotiating with the Zionists—a fact confirmed by his autopsy.
Ghalibaf noted that in 1982, amid the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah founded Hezbollah and, alongside other leaders, raised the banner of resistance.
He emphasized that previously divided Shia movements united through wisdom and maturity, resulting in major victories and the eventual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon.
He also praised the martyr Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din for his unwavering commitment in both social and political arenas, helping transform Hezbollah into a living reality within society.
Resistance Against Military Aggression
Referring to past wars, Ghalibaf said that following the martyrdom of resistance leaders, the Zionist regime deployed six divisions to southern Lebanon, supported by drones, aircraft, artillery, and ground forces—yet failed to advance even one step.
He affirmed: “Hezbollah is alive, flowing through the blood, veins, and hearts of the people. If it were weak, why do the U.S. and Britain exert daily pressure to disarm it?”
Operation “True Promise” and the Resistance Doctrine
In another part of his speech, Ghalibaf explained that while the enemy relies on air superiority in its military strategies, the Islamic Republic’s doctrine is missile-based. “Even if we are weak in the air, the Zionist regime is vulnerable both on the ground and in the sky.”
He noted that during the “True Promise” operations I to III, a single missile targeted the regime’s most vital centers, proving that Iran no longer needs to launch large numbers of missiles to achieve strategic impact.
Shifting Global Perspectives
Quoting The New York Times, Ghalibaf cited recent Israeli polls showing only 37% optimism about national security, 22% about social cohesion, and 30% about economic conditions.
He added that 35% of Americans now sympathize with Palestinians, compared to 34% with Israelis. Before the 12-day war, 47% supported Israel while only 20% sympathized with Palestinians. This shift reflects significant changes in global attitudes toward the Israel-Palestine issue.
