Taghribnews (TNA) - Iran and Saudi Arabia Emphasize Expansion of Economic and Security Cooperation

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Ali Larijani, on the sidelines of his trip to Riyadh, said in an interview about his meeting with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia: In this meeting, there was discussion and dialogue regarding economic cooperation, because the level of economic relations between the two countries is low, so some obstacles must be removed. Also, consultations were held on regional cooperation and what measures can be taken for the stability of the region were discussed.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, regarding the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia in other fields, added: Also, defense cooperation between the two countries was examined, and it was decided that this work would be pursued in the form of groups, and God willing, it will take on a more organized form in the future.

In response to the question of whether a change in perspective and strategy has occurred in Arab countries and their officials after the events in Qatar, Larijani stated: Yes, of course, the Saudi friends had a relatively clear view of these developments even before, but now it has become much clearer. That is, the different countries of the region feel that the path that Iran has always believed, that an adventurous element in the region would not allow stability to emerge, has taken on a more concrete form.
