Sunni Cleric: Unity Week Is an Opportunity for Convergence and Solidarity in the Islamic World
Speaking in his Friday sermon, Ahmadi praised the late Imam Khomeini’s foresight in designating Unity Week, calling it a strategic initiative that all Muslims should appreciate and protect. He criticized the inaction of some Islamic governments and international bodies toward the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel, particularly against the people of Gaza, and called for serious and practical support for the oppressed.
Highlighting the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) description of a true believer, Ahmadi said that genuine faith is reflected in defending the truth even during worship, remaining steadfast despite mockery or hostility. He stressed that such perseverance carries the reward of jihad and that believers should recognize the immense spiritual value of their steadfastness.
He concluded by urging the faithful to remain committed to worship, the defense of truth, and obedience to God, expressing hope that all Muslims will avoid sin and walk firmly on the path of righteousness.
