Qassem made the remarks in the opening ceremony of the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference underway in Tehran on Monday.

He attached prime importance to the necessity of unity among Muslims, urging Islamic nations to counter takfiri movements.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hezbollah chief, is considered an influential entity in further reinforcement of unity of Ummah.

The practical unity of Muslims in the battlefield against the Zionist regime has been clearly revealed, he said.

The triumph or defeat of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine belongs to the entire Islamic Ummah, he added.

Although the enemies appear powerful with their material and political support, he said, the Islamic Ummah is stronger with its righteousness, faith, and unity.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hezbollah’s Secretary General considered economic sanctions, cultural invasion, and the occupation of territories as various forms of occupation.
