Rostamani outlined three key strategies for achieving unity:
- Strengthening the discourse of resistance as a source of dignity for the Islamic Ummah, citing the Quranic verse: “If you help Allah, He will help you” (Muhammad 7).
Expanding scientific and cultural exchanges between Shia and Sunni scholars.
Establishing joint youth institutions in academic, cultural, and media fields to foster collaboration.
He stressed the importance of using modern media wisely to counter divisive propaganda and promote the unifying teachings of pure Muhammadan Islam. Social and economic cooperation among Muslim nations, he said, must move unity from mere slogans into the fabric of daily life.
Unity Is a Divine Mandate, Not a Temporary Slogan
Rostamani described Islamic unity as a Quranic principle and strategic necessity for the survival of the Ummah. Quoting verse 103 of Surah Al-Imran—“Hold fast to the rope of Allah, all of you, and do not be divided”—he argued that unity is a divine obligation, especially in times of war and discord.
He clarified that unity does not mean ignoring theological or jurisprudential differences, but rather aligning against a common enemy—namely, global Zionism and American imperialism. Referencing Imam Khomeini, he said: “If Muslims unite, no power can stand against them.” This, he added, is more urgent today than ever.
Religious Leaders Must Be Voices of Unity
Rostamani warned that the greatest betrayal to the Islamic Ummah is fueling sectarian conflict. He called on religious leaders to be advocates of proximity, not division. Quoting Ayatollah Khamenei, he reiterated: “Islamic unity is both a religious and rational necessity,” and “Sectarianism between Shia and Sunni is the enemy’s agenda.”
He urged scholars to focus their discourse on identifying the real enemy—America, Zionism, and extremist groups created by them—and to prevent ethnic and sectarian strife from spilling Muslim blood.
A Bright Future for the Islamic Ummah
Despite ongoing crises in Palestine, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, Rostamani expressed optimism about the future of the Islamic world. He noted the growing strength of the resistance front and the repeated failures of the Zionist regime and the United States in the region as signs of divine victory: “Indeed, Allah will support those who support Him” (Hajj 40).
He envisioned a future built on unity, dignity, and the revival of Islamic civilization—one that was promised by Imam Khomeini and reaffirmed in Ayatollah Khamenei’s “Second Phase of the Revolution” statement.
The Role of Scholars and Youth in Defending Unity
Rostamani emphasized the critical role of religious and academic elites in the media battlefield, where the enemy wages war through narratives. He called on scholars to enlighten the public and produce authentic Islamic content, quoting Ayatollah Khamenei: “The jihad of clarification is an urgent and definite duty.”
He also highlighted the importance of youth as the true assets of the Ummah. With faith, insight, and mastery of media tools, young Muslims can become flagbearers of unity. “The future of the Islamic Ummah,” he said, “will be shaped by this generation—if they walk the path of resistance and awakening, the enemy’s divisive projects will collapse.”
He concluded by urging youth to build transnational networks in culture, science, and media to strengthen ties among Muslim nations and keep the banner of unity flying high.
