Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Akbar Rashad, head of the Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought, has proposed the formation of a transreligious, regional, and ethnic resistance front to support the Palestinian nation.
Speaking at the webinar of the 39th Islamic Unity Conference, Rashad emphasized the central importance of the Palestinian issue to the Islamic world.
He lashed out at some Muslim leaders for pursuing reconciliation with the occupying regime.
He put forward the formation of a transreligious, regional, and ethnic resistance front to support the Palestinian nation.
While elements of such a resistance front already exist in practice, it must be formally and actively established across societies to help the Islamic world achieve independence and dismantle global hegemonic powers, he argued.
Rashad pointed to the widespread display of the Palestinian flag in mass protests around the world, calling it a symbol of freedom, resistance, and justice.
“Today, millions raise the Palestinian flag in their demonstrations, demanding the liberation of this sacred land.”
Describing the ongoing situation in Gaza as heartbreaking, Rashad condemned powerful nations for failing to take concrete action against the Israeli genocide.
With the theme “1500th Birth Anniversary of Prophet of Blessings and Islamic Nation”, the 39th Islamic Unity Conference will be held from September 7 to 10, 2025, in Tehran.
