39th edition of Islamic Unity Conference to be held September 8

The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the announcement at a meeting of the centers’ Supreme Council held in Iran’s northern city of Gorgan on Tuesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Emphasizing the need for coordinated and coherent planning for the International Islamic Unity Conference, Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari said: "With the planning that has been done, the date for the conference has been set for September 17, coinciding with the 15th of Rabi' al-Awwal, and this year, like in previous years, the International Unity Conference will be held with the presence of domestic and foreign figures."

He continued: "Parts of the conference have also been planned virtually for foreign guests who are unable to travel."

The Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions stated that the scholars of Golestan province played an important role during the recent 12-day imposed war, and added: "Sunni and Shiite scholars once again demonstrated their unity and solidarity by issuing statements in support of the Islamic Republic system."

He added: "Sunni and Shiite scholars of Golestan province have shown that they stand by the Islamic system and revolution in all circumstances."

The Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought hailed the appointment of the Turkmen Cultural Deputy at the major Islamic unity center and said: "Nasergholi Sarli is a professor at Kharazmi University and a prominent Sunni elite in Golestan Province, whose appointment was a symbol of attention to the country's ethnic and religious capacities."
