Amnesty International says Israel pursuing a "deliberate" starvation policy in Gaza

The organization warned, in a report prepared for the United Nations and non-governmental organizations, that the Gaza Strip is on the brink of imminent famine.

After interviewing 19 displaced Palestinians and two medical personnel treating malnourished children, the organization stated that "Israel is carrying out a deliberate starvation campaign in the occupied Gaza Strip, systematically destroying the health, safety, and social fabric of Palestinian life."
The organization explained that the testimonies it collected confirm that "the deliberate outcome of plans and policies designed and implemented by Israel over the past 22 months deliberately imposes on Palestinians in Gaza living conditions calculated to lead to their physical destruction, and is part of the ongoing genocide being carried out by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza."
Last April, Amnesty International accused Israel of committing "genocide since October 7, 2023."
