OIC condemns Israeli atrocities against Syria

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the repeated Israeli aggression on Syrian territory and its blatant interference in the internal affairs of Damascus.

The Islamic body has called the Israeli aggression as flagrant violation of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
 
In a statement published on the organization’s website, the OIC General Secretariat reiterated its “full solidarity with and support for the Syrian Arab Republic and its people at this critical juncture.”
It called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to put an end to the repeated Israeli attacks that threaten regional peace and security.
 
Israel has carried out series of deadly attacks against Syria under the false pretext of supporting the Druze minority only to continue to pursue its expansionist agenda in the Arab country.
 
The recent clashes in Syria’s Sweida Province between the Druze community and forces affiliated with the rebel government ruling from Damascus have escalated to a critical point, rooted in ethnic, religious, and political tensions.
 
Following the rise in sectarian tensions in Sweida and the formation of Druze armed groups, which were accused of separatist intentions by Julani’s forces, Israel entered the scene under the pretense of supporting the Druze and intensified its role in southern Syria with airstrikes on Syrian army positions.
