Yahya Ghaddar: Result of surrender is nothing but slaughter in the name of peace

According to Taghrib News Agency, amid ongoing atrocities in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Ghaddar delivered a passionate and critical speech in which he compared the events of Karbala with the current situation in the Islamic world—particularly in Palestine.

Emphasizing that only names have changed, not the times, he said the Islamic nation has been deceived repeatedly, sacrificed, and ultimately sold in the marketplace of silence and betrayal.

Harshly criticizing the peace process and empty promises, he stated: “It is not the first time the hands of the Ummah are extended to sign peace accords, while knives are hidden under the table.”

He added: “History taught us that covenants are broken when truth is replaced by interest.”

Pointing to the betrayal of some Arab leaders, he accused them of breaking the sword of resistance and donning the cloak of fear, saying: “The nation has been killed time and again—not by the enemy's sword, but by the silence of its own sons.”

The Secretary-General of the Global Gathering to Support the Resistance Option asked whether today’s Palestine is not a repetition of our ancient narratives, stating: “Peace promises, conferences, agreements, normalization… and then what? Siege, killings, settlement expansions, and one betrayal after another—while some leaders still seek a mirage of justice from those who only speak the language of force.”

Ghaddar also referred to the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, recalling the 2015 nuclear agreement and its violation in 2018. He said: “Iran showed patience and made renewed efforts, but for those who see loyalty as weakness, promises hold no value. They offer security only to later assassinate scientists and intensify sanctions.”

In conclusion, he praised the resistance across the region—from Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen to Iraq and Iran—saying: “There are men who have read history and refused to repeat it. They have stood and declared: no to peace with murderers, no to compromise with covenant-breakers, and no to obedience to those who trade dignity for security.”

He warned that if those who bear arms accept compromise with traitors, they may suffer the same fate as their treacherous predecessors, adding: “History does not forgive traitors, and a nation that hands over its sword in pursuit of security will gain nothing but slaughter in the name of peace.”
