Naim Qassem: Defense of the Homeland Does Not Require Permission
 Sheikh Naim Qassem, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, delivered a speech during the days of Muharram, addressing those who urge the resistance to surrender its weapons. He stated, "Ask the aggressors to leave, not us who are defenders of this land."
 
He questioned the logic of never condemning the enemy's aggression while always attacking one's own and demanding, "First, you lay down your arms." He acknowledged that if some are ready to surrender, that is their choice, but "we will not submit; our slogan is 'Heed not to humiliation.'"
