The Council of Shia Scholars of Pakistan has issued a statement expressing its full support for the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and strongly condemning the remarks made by the President of the United States. Allameh Seyyed Shafaqat Hossein Shirazi, the head of the Council, condemned Trump's threats against the Supreme Leader and the leader of the Muslim world in a significant statement addressed to scholars, Friday prayer leaders, and preachers in Pakistan.
In this statement, Allameh Shirazi emphasized that these threats represent a blatant violation of the authority and religious leadership. He added that the words of the U.S. President reflect the shameful and rejected nature of global arrogance.
He stated that this aggression targets not just an individual but a symbol and a religious and intellectual center that leads the Islamic community in the battle of truth against falsehood, serving as the backbone of the axis of resistance and awareness.
The head of the Council of Shia Scholars of Pakistan noted that the wise leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei is a continuation of the path of Ghadir and Ashura, and today he has become a global symbol in the face of contemporary Yazidi forces.
He explained that the religious authorities in Najaf and Qom unanimously declared that such statements constitute a form of "hostility," and defending the authority is a religious duty. Accordingly, the Council emphasizes the following points:
- Complete and absolute support for the wise leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei;
- Considering the protection of his blessed life as a matter of faith and loyalty;
- Rejection of any conspiracy and aggression against the authority and religious leadership;
- Warning of a decisive response in case of any foolish act by the enemy in this regard.
Allameh Shirazi stressed the necessity of clarifying this important issue in sermons, gatherings, and public assemblies, stating that silence in this situation amounts to betrayal, and defending the authority and religious leadership is an undeniable religious obligation.
He also pointed out that the position of the Islamic jurist not only represents the religious leadership of Muslims but also embodies the hope of oppressed people in Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, and Kashmir, serving as a fundamental pillar in resisting the forces of oppression and global arrogance.
This statement comes at a time when a wave of anger and disgust has swept through the Islamic world following the undiplomatic and insulting remarks made by the U.S. President against the Supreme Leader, provoking furious reactions in Islamic and international media and public opinion.
