Abbas Araghchi made the remarks in an interview with the American broadcasting corporation, CBS, dismissing a claim by the US President on continuation of Iran-US nuclear talks next week, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Talks won’t resume unless the US ends military threats.”

When asked if Tehran will continue enrichment, Araghchi said,” Iran’s nuclear program has turned into a source of pride for our nation”, adding,” We have gone through 12 days of imposed war; therefore, people will not easily back down from enrichment.”

The senior official added,” Once we are determined, and there exists such determination, to make progress in nuclear technology we are able to make up for the losses.”

The interview with Iran’s Foreign Minister comes more than two weeks after the Israeli regime carried out a military offensive against a number of military positions and nuclear sites as well as residential buildings in Iran.

The attacks claimed lives of over 900 Iranians, among them several top military commanders and nuclear scientists as well as the ordinary people leaving dozens of others injured.

Iran, in response, launched the third phase of its major retaliatory missile strike codenamed Operation True Promise III targeting the strategic military and intelligence positions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
