Iran’s parliament approves suspension of coop with IAEA

Members of Iran’s Parliament have unanimously approved to suspend all cooperations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) three days after US aggression on Iranian facilities.

The decision by the Parliament was made on Wednesday, a day after Iran and Israel admitted to ceasefire following 12 days of fire exchange, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
In today's open session of the parliament, legislators agreed to the general outline of the plan with 221 votes in favor, no votes against, and one abstention out of a total of 223 representatives present in the session.
 
Accordingly, the IAEA observers will not be permitted to Iran before the international body guarantees security of Iran’s nuclear facilities and the peaceful nature of its programs.
 
The spokesman for the Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board also said that Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be suspended until Iran’s nuclear rights are guaranteed.
 
The decision follows the June 22 airstrike by the United States targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Arak.
