Arab League Secretary-General:

Sanctioning Extremist Israeli Ministers is a Global Step in Response to Crimes Against Palestinians

According to Taghrib News Agency, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Norway issued a statement yesterday announcing that they have imposed sanctions against "Itamar Ben-Gvir" and "Bezalel Smotrich," two extremist ministers of the Israeli regime, due to their continuous incitement to violence against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

Reacting to this decision, Aboul Gheit praised it, stating: "This measure is a positive step towards holding accountable officials of the occupying regime who have openly incited violence against Palestinians and have provided the grounds for the continuation of settler crimes with full impunity."
He added: "Sanctioning these two extremist ministers confronts the world, and even people inside Israel, with the depth of crimes committed by some officials of this regime; crimes that can be evaluated as war crimes and widespread violations of international humanitarian law in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip."
The Arab League Secretary-General also emphasized: "The decision of these five countries can be an effective initial step to restore balance to the international approach towards war crimes against Palestinians and provide a platform for legal prosecution and increased pressure on perpetrators of violence, racial discrimination, and genocide."
These sanctions have been imposed while, since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, more than 180,000 Palestinians have been killed and injured, and international bodies have repeatedly warned about potential war crimes by the Zionist regime.
