The airstrike by the Israeli regime, which took the lives of 9 children of Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar while he was fulfilling his duty to treat victims at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, exemplifies the peak of brutality, oppression, and genocide against the Palestinian people.
This tragedy, confirmed by international media and humanitarian witnesses, including British volunteer doctors, is part of a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing and destruction carried out by the Israeli regime with impunity.
We firmly condemn the deliberate targeting of civilians, homes, and hospitals, the ongoing disregard for international humanitarian law and UN resolutions, and the hypocritical silence and complicity of Western powers that continue to arm and support the apartheid regime of Israel.
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations states that this is not a war; it is genocide. The massacre of the Al-Najjar family is a testament to the moral bankruptcy of the Israeli regime. Targeting children and innocent individuals who posed no threat and were simply sleeping in their homes cannot be justified under any pretext of security or self-defense.
We echo the words of Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur, who rightly described this act as a new sadistic model of genocide.
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations calls for immediate global action for an immediate ceasefire and the end of all military operations by Israel in Gaza. We also urge the international community, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and ASEAN to initiate legal actions against Israeli leaders in the International Criminal Court. Emergency humanitarian intervention under the supervision of the United Nations should be initiated to prevent widespread hunger and medical collapse in Gaza. Malaysia and countries of the Global South should sever all diplomatic and economic relations with the apartheid regime and launch an international campaign of boycott, divestment, and sanctions, as well as establish an international court to prosecute war crimes committed in Gaza.
To the Islamic world and to every person with a conscience, we say that we cannot remain silent. We must rise. If we turn our backs now, we are complicit in the death of every child. Let the world remember Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar not only as a grieving mother but as a symbol of resistance, standing in the ashes while still serving her people.
The brutality of Israel is shockingly evil, its occupation intolerable, and its crimes unforgivable.
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations will intensify its global campaign to mobilize the community, civil society, and humanitarian forces to defend Gaza, expose the Israeli regime, and demand justice for Palestine.
