General Michel Aoun met with a delegation of French intellectuals and journalists headed by editor in chief Frederic Bonze who came to Lebanon on a touristic and cultural visit.

"We have observed indeed many changes, particularly in the European principles," Aoun indicated to his visitors.

The Deputy confirmed that "the political game" imposes good ties between the two neighbor countries [Lebanon and Syria]. This is the golden rule I've been following since the 2055, the date of the Syrian army's retreat from Lebanon," he announced.

As for the political situation at the Middle Eastern scene, Aoun confirmed that each country has its own particularities.

"Lebanon is not similar to Syria; neither does it resemble Saudi Arabia or Iraq. Each country has its own geography," he corroborated, reiterating his support to religious pluralism and freedom of faith.

Aoun warned as well that the change in Syria must be done progressively in order to avoid anarchy, as in Iraq, warning from the arrival of the Muslim brothers to the rule for it contradicts with the region's cleaving towards plurality.

"I believe the situation in Syria is going towards the better," he pointed, promising of a Levant of development and civilization.
