Quran Recitation Competition Held at Jamia Mosque in Srinagar, Kashmir

According to the Taghrib News Agency, the Waqf Association of Jamia Mosque in Srinagar held this event to commemorate the thirty-fifth anniversary of the assassination of Mirwaiz Mawlawi Muhammad Farooq, one of the prominent religious and political figures in Kashmir. The program featured Quran recitation, congregational prayers, and a major Quran recitation competition.
More than 30 prominent Islamic seminaries from across Kashmir participated in this event.
 
During the ceremony, dozens of young reciters showcased their recitation skills in front of a large audience of religious scholars, imams, and the general public.
 
The event was presided over by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the head of the Waqf Association. In his speech, he stated that this event was not only to honor Mirwaiz Mawlawi Muhammad Farooq but also to foster a deep attachment to the Quran and its teachings among the younger generation.
