Iranian cleric congratulates Pope Leo on his election
The head of Iranian seminaries, Hujjat-ul-Islam Alireza A’rafi, has congratulated Pope Leo XIV on becoming the pontiff and the new head of the Roman Catholic Church.

Hujjat-ul-Islam A’rafi, in a message to the Vatican, said,” This huge responsibility is also a great opportunity to maintain valuable efforts to promote spirituality, social justice, confronting oppression and proximity among Abrahamic religions”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He highlighted the valuable commonalities between Islam and Christianity as the grounds for interfaith dialogue and constructive cooperation between the religions and nations.
The Iranian cleric expressed hope that the new era would provide the grounds for more cooperation between Islam and Christianity and a bridge towards peace, coexistence and cultural convergence.
