Muslims must unite if seeking revival of past glory
The president of Iran’s International Al-Mustafa University says the Islamic revolution sought solidarity among different denominations defining unity as a prelude to revival of the past glory of Islam.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Abbasi, made the remarks in a meeting with a visiting delegation of religious scholars from Bangladesh in Tehran on Tuesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” The Al-Mustafa International University, with 97 percent foreign students from 135 countries, has opened its doors to the followers of different Islamic denominations so that they can continue their religious studies based on their own school of thought.”
He said,” Iran’s 1979 revolution seeks solidarity among the Islamic denominations since it believes that Muslims must maintain their unity if they intend to revive their honor.”
He added that the establishment of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is among the strategies of the Islamic Republic to boost the fraternal ties among Muslims.
The senior Iranian cleric also referred to the Islamic Unity Conference, as an event that annually convenes prominent figures from different Islamic denominations to share their thoughts on different issues across the world of Islam.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Abbasi emphasized necessity of all-out supports for the oppressed Palestinian people and other Muslim nations in face of the colonial powers and hailed the Islamic Republic as the sole Muslim government supporting Palestinians.
He warned against the constant efforts by the mainstream media to promote division, schism and pessimism among Muslims calling on the Muslim clerics to caution their nations against such plots.
The delegation of Bangladeshi scholars has been in Iran at the invitation of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought meeting with Shia and Sunni religious scholars and political officials.
