OIC Condemns Attacks on Vital Infrastructure in Sudan

According to Taghrīb News Agency(ITN), the OIC stated that these actions are in violation of international law and humanitarian principles, undermining regional security and stability.

The organization emphasized the necessity of adhering to commitments related to the protection of civilians in Sudan, as outlined in the Jeddah Declaration on May 11, 2023.
The OIC also called for an end to hostilities and a comprehensive dialogue aimed at achieving a sustainable solution that supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan. It stressed that such actions are essential for resolving the ongoing crisis, alleviating the humanitarian problems faced by the people of Sudan, and realizing their aspirations for security, peace, and sustainable stability.
Previously, the governments of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt condemned the targeting of vital facilities and infrastructure in Sudan, deeming it a threat to regional stability and a violation of international laws and norms.
On Sunday, Sudanese officials and local media reported that Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had carried out drone attacks on Port Sudan and Kassala.
According to reports from the United Nations and local officials, the conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has resulted in over 20,000 deaths and nearly 15 million displaced persons and refugees.
