Sheikh Azmi Abdul Hamid, the president of MAPIM, issued the massage after the Saturday massive blast at Shahid Rajaee Port in Iran’s Hormozgan Province that killed and injured nearly 1,100 people, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He wrote,” On behalf of MAPIM, we extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the families of the victims, the people of Iran, and all those affected by this devastating incident.”

The prominent Malaysian scholar prayed that the Almighty God grants mercy to those who have perished, swift healing to the injured, and bestows patience upon their families during the time of immense grief.

The message by MAPIM President came on Monday, two days after a powerful explosion at Shahid Rajaee port left 70 people dead, 6 missing and over 1,000 others injured.

The blast occurred after a fuel tanker exploded for unknown reasons causing massive damage and huge fire at the port.
