Huj. Shahriari stresses ethics of artificial intelligence
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has stressed the ethical principles of developing artificial intelligence.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari made the remarks in his speech at the international conference on Science, Religion and the Artificial Intelligence held in Zagreb, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to the expanding role of artificial intelligence in modern life that has developed into a companion for many people.
The cleric noted that artificial intelligence could be developed as a means for promoting world peace while misuse of this modern technology could amount to a serious threat for the international stability.
He said,” Military use of the artificial intelligence, like in automatic weapons, have sparked concerns on intensification or arms race” adding that,” In order to prevent such threats, international legal frameworks must be compiled regarding use of artificial intelligence.”
Dr Hamid Shahriari counted “commitment, justifiability and trust-building” among the professional principles necessary for hiring AI and called them as the factors that play key role in secure, ethical and trustable use of artificial intelligence technology in making critical decisions.
The senior cleric headed a delegation of Iranian religious and cultural figures to the international conference on artificial intelligence held in Zagreb.
