“Islamic resistance, key to victory against oppression”, cleric

The head of Society of Lebanese Muslim Scholars highlighted the historical stance of the Islamic resistance stressing its key role in confrontation with the oppressors and colonial powers.

Sheikh Qazi Hunaina made the remarks at an online meeting of scholars discussing the transforming role of resistance throughout history, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the defensive nature of all wars Muslims have fought in history and said,” All wars attended by Muslims were only in line with defending the oppressed people in face of the oppressors.”

The Lebanese scholar also hailed the support of the Islamic Republic for the resistance axis that began with late Imam Khomeini (RA) and was continued by the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei.

He said,” Thank to these supports, the resistance has achieved the most advanced weapons that are capable of targeting deep into the occupied Palestinian lands.”

Hunaina referred to the Al-Aqsa Operation as an instance of contemporary victories of the resistance emphasizing that the path of martyred resistance leaders will be maintained.

He reiterated the Shia Sunni unity achieved in light of resistance and said,” This solidarity in face of the enemy and its western supporters reveals the honor of the Islamic nation.”
