Muslim World League calls for mechanisms to deter Israeli crimes in Gaza

The Secretary General of Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned in strongest terms the recent Israeli airstrike targeting the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip calling for international mechanisms that deter such crimes.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, in a statement issued on Monday, slammed the Israeli forces for committing brutal crimes against Palestinian civilians in Gaza without deterrence, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He called the Israeli aggression as a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws stressing urgent need for the world community to shoulder its responsibilities in confrontation with these violences.

The statement by prominent cleric follows an Israeli airstrike that targeted and demolished the emergency department of the Baptist Hospital, the last major facility providing healthcare to Palestinians in northern Gaza.

The attack came less than 20 minutes after a warning by Israeli regime to evacuate the building.

According to Gaza Health Ministry Israeli attack resulted in the death of a sick Palestinian child and forced the evacuation of dozens of wounded people.
